For my friend Bill ... trucker extraordinaire and blogger at View From the Cheap Seats.
I'm going home
And when I want to go home, I'm going
mobile
Well I'm gonna find a home on wheels, see
how it feels,
Goin' mobile
Keep me moving
I can pull up by the curb,
I can make it on the road,
Goin' mobile
I can stop in any street
And talk with people that we meet
Goin' mobile
Keep me moving
Out in the woods
Or in the city
It's all the same to me
When I'm driving free
The world's my home
When I'm mobile
Play the tape machine
Make the toast and tea
When I'm mobile
Well, I can lay in bed with only highway
ahead
When I'm mobile
Keep me moving
Keep me moving
Over fifty
Keep me groovin'
Just a hippie gypsy
Come on move now
Movin'
Keep me movin' yeah
Keep me movin', movin', movin', yeah
Movin' yeah
Mobile, mobile, mobile, mobile....
I don't care about pollution
I'm an air-conditioned gypsy
That's my solution
Watch the police and the taxman miss me!
I'm mobile!

Baby Pictures
Quin is almost nine months old now. Couldn't resist a couple of pictures for my two or three readers. Or is it four readers? My popularity is growing exponentially ... by 2045, I'll be up to six viewers. Very exciting.
Anyway ....

Random Thoughts on a Monday
Aaargh. If only the Brewers had not lost all those games with 3+ run leads. It does highlight their youth, though. I have been surprised that they have contended as long as they did. I truly thought next year would be the year. They're not out of it yet, but with the Cubbies playing the Sisters of the Poor the next six games, it doesn't look good.
My beautiful wife and both lovely daughters are sick with the flu. Can't wait until Wednesday or Thursday when the symptoms start popping up in me. Oh well. I know it will be miserable because Kelly is not a whiner by any stretch, but she has actually complained this time.
The Jena 6: I don't know much about this. I perused some articles. What I gather is this case is not as simple as some clowns on the right make it out to be. There has been anger simmering for some time on both sides of the fence. Kid brings a shotgun to school ... kids take it away and jump him (f**k, I would too). They get charged with theft and attempted murder. Gimme a break. No one is innocent here, but the charges are ridiculous.
Brett Favre looks almost 38 years old ... if judged by his running ability. Man, that arm, though.
Caught a mouse in one of those sticky traps. I named it Fred and then drowned it to put it out of its misery.

More Happy Birthday
Can't help it. More pics of the baby.

Oh, my 11-year old boy, Ian, went on his first date. I won't post a picture of the twosome because I did not get permission for the girl. The dance was held for 4K through 6th grade kids ... to attend, a parent had to chaperone. I was the honored one and thoroughly enjoyed watching all the kids. Thye had a DJ and fun things for the kids to do. Ian and his date did not dance, but it was fun to watch as they made sugar castles (pixie stick stuff) together ... and in general had a good time together. At the end of the night I could tell that the young lady had a good time because she tried to kick Ian in the shin. True love.
Abby, meanwhile, is quite the little 5K genius, or so her teacher implies. She loves school and actually creates her own homework when she gets home, just like her big brother.

After quite a few hours of sometimes painful, and ultimately fruitless labor, it was decided to go ahead with a caeserean section. I was allowed to enter the operating room and provide support to Kelly with the proviso I wear this sterile suit. Rumors that the suit was actually for comic relief of the surgeons are false.

It's A Girl!
Quin Elyse Rock was born at 7:36 pm on December 31, 2006. She weighed in at 7 pounds 6 ounces and was 20.25" long (this being important information apparently).
Baby and mom are doing well, pics and more info later. Got to run back to the hospital.
