Theologians call it the "any-moment, pretribulation rapture" - which supposedly is imminent and has to occur several years BEFORE the second coming. If you go to engines like Yahoo and type in "Pretrib Rapture Diehards," you will see newly found facts about the 175-year-old history of that escapist view which didn't take over American evangelicalism before 1909 - that's how recent it is, Americawise! The above article has the documentation that Van Impe etc. fear the most because it shows the groundless origin of it and moreover reveals the massive dishonesty (like plagiarism, changing of early documents, etc.) throughout its short and bizarre history which was swept under the rug for more than a century! For some time now the rapture-ranters have seen the handwriting on the wall, aware that sooner or later the sordid history of their nonsense would be revealed. So now they are desperately milking their cash cow for all it's worth before it kicks the bucket!
